Department of Fashion Design

    • This Department trains future fashion creators through acquiring technical skills. It is  cultural education fostering the development of talent and in-depth knowledge of the methods of transforming the creative impulse into innovative and competitive fashion collections. Alongside the theoretical training which implies the analysis of the work of certain creators, the study of the history of costume, fashion, textile design and the dialogue between fashion and art, all the practical tools necessary for the design of an outfit are provided to the student. The lessons on design, representation in fashion and the graphic display of the design are an aid to the students to allow them to organize their design idea. Lastly, the students have the capacity to realize the design, acquired during the course. They are able to reach the correct evaluation, selection and analysis of the material of manage the relationship between feasibility and expressive needs, including quality/cost/limits of the materials. In the first year, the accent is more on the development of the ability of the student to assimilate basic computer skills. The following year the students begin to cultivate personally and develop a new idea. During the last year of training, other subjects will complete the learners’ syllabus making them able to manage their own learning.
      At the end of the academic course, the works are presented to the public. The student will put the accent not only on the creation of the outfit,  but also on the dynamic of the problems relative to the creation of the event (fashion show), from the set design  to the design of the invitations, the search for the venue of the presentation  of the project to the evaluation of the budget for the press conference.
